RALEIGH — The wife of a Navy reservist was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to murder in the death of her husband, who was shot by her then-teenage lover and his friend.
Monique Berkley, 27, entered the plea in Wake County Superior Court in an agreement with prosecutors to avoid the death penalty.
