Do you remember the European MTV music awards? I don’t, but I do remember the press after Kanye jumped on stage during the Best Video Award to complain that he didn’t win it. In a surprising turn of events, he waited until after the show to question judging at the MTV Video Awards on Saturday. The rapper/producer complained that Apocalypto didn’t win for being the best movie and compared himself to Mel Gibson, saying “Sometimes I feel a little like Mel Gibson. [People say to him], OK, Mel Gibson, we know [your movie is] the best, but if you shutup, maybe we can give you an award.”I think that what Kanye so eloquently meant to say is that he feels that he is the best, but doesn’t get his proper due because of his controversial nature (that nature involving award show outbursts, etc.). Kanye might want to consider that he could be judged solely on the quality of the music and still not win every time.
