July 26, 2007 - We reported on an interesting conflict between Usher and his number one fan site usherforever.com last month. This made the press because lawyers from his camp attempted to shut down the fan site in light of negative comments made by members towards his fiance Tameka Foster. The most notable of these insulting posts refer to Tameka as “Man-eka.” There was speculation, due to the remarks against Tameka, that she was solely behind the legal action and that Usher was simply following along. This speculation is also supported by the positive relationship the website had with Usher in the past. These good terms began to sour as sentiments towards Tameka went south on the message board.
If Tameka was infact the driving force behind the legal action then it seems likely that these threats will ever be followed up considering that the wedding has been called off. There are other possible reasons for the break, including a spotty past for Brown recently made public and a longstanding conflict between Brown and Usher’s mother. Usher has reportedly gone to see his mother, whom was not planning to attend the wedding due to the conflicts with Tameka. Official statements claim that Usher and Tameka are still close friends, and that Tameka is taking the break up well. Any more updates on this are likely to make it to usherforever.com first, where dedicated fans are sympathetic to the breakup yet relieved that Tameka may be out of the picture.
