If what’s in there is indeed the new Pocket DJ system from Tonium (a new startup out of Europe), best believe I’m happy to see you. I’d be a bit confused though, since it’s not slated to come out until this Fall. However, It’s never to soon to start drooling over fancy pictures from different angles though! The new Tonium’s 120 gigabyte storage capacity will not only blow your Ipod a new asshole, it will also crossfade that new asshole with a Timbaland track. Yes, and loop it back as well! This device is PMP! That is, a portable music player, but also much more. On the mixing side of things it has the ability to play and loop two separate tracks, and of course has an output for the DJ’s headphones and a line out for the mixed feed. With touch sensitive controls for cross fading, bending pitch and adding effects, one can apparently mix on the spot with this device. It doesn’t seem like you can scratch with the Tonium like on a real turntable, but you can record your mix directly to the hard drive of a PC or Mac with a USB connection and their software. I’m guessing that most of the people buying this will be happy to show it off and tell their friends, never really learning how to use it. At least that’s what I plan on doing. Check back in October after we get our hands on one of these.by Lucas DiGia & Robby Uppal
