Rapper T.I. believes that this entire upheaval of misogynistic lyrics being linked with hip hop is simply ridiculous. He believes that people should be more concerned with the policies of US President George W. Bush than hip hop. T.I. told MTV in a recent interview that “If you want to fix America, you have to start at George Bush and work your way down- you can’t start at hip hop and work your way up.” He went on to state that “(some) parents let their children blame it on hip hop. I think that’s the beginning of the problem, personally. I think hip hop is being used as the scapegoat.”

i’m not that informed about what’s goin down in the US but i think T.I is right. most people do use HipHop as a scapegoat. Everything that goes wrong is blamed on HipHop and that is so not good.
I think that the negative aspects of hip hop are often treated as problems by outsiders when in reality, they are just the symptoms to social and economic imbalances in the US.
I agree with Alex, the mainstream has accepted Hip Hop into the system to deter the blame from the Government - whether the problem be social or economic.
