Guerilla Union’s highly anticipated touring festival will feature some of the best names in hip hop. It’s website describes the event as a celebration of the resurrection of “real hip hop” in the mainstream. This is demonstrated by many of the participating artists anticipating major releases this summer including Pharoahe Monch, Talib Qweli, David Banner, Underground Kingz and The Wu Tang Clan. For Wu Tang and UGK, this will be the first album release in over five years. Wu Tang is headlining some of the shows with Nas in select New York and California locations, Rage Against the Machine will be joining along with Cypress Hill as headliners. As for all the locations, Immortal Technique and Jedi Mind Tricks will also be joining up. Freestyle wizard Supernatural and beat-boxing savant Rahzel will be hosting this festival series. While it’s disappointing that only the East and West coasts will be getting the full star treatment– this is set to be one of the best hip hop shows this summer regardless of which date you attend.
