Alright y’all, I hope that you’ve got your egg McJumpoff and some coffee to sip, or whatever your favorite early morning day starter is (I prefer granola myself, and/or a beer but don’t quote me.) because we’re getting it in like us IT guys (Intelligent Thugs) do it, heavy on the mind and heavy on the grind. I wanted to give you a basic rundown of what The Monday Polly is and more importantly, isn’t.

What It Is: A forum where we’re going to chop up good game about the current state of the world, each episode has a main focus that we’re going to speak about in depth, but unlike CNN or MSNBC, I’m a cat from the block who wants to bring y’all up on level ground, not dumb anything down, so what I lace you with can be taken straight to the bank. I’m putting you up on what you may not know, but trust me son, its trill because what we’re pollyin’ about is bigger than me, bigger than you, bigger than all of us, so don’t sleep. I’m keeping’ it one hundred with y’all at all times, and I expect y’all to do the same. Cool? Oh yeah, fair warning; this blog is BIASED AS SHIT. I make no excuses about what I care for and do not care for, seeing that this is a discussion I fully expect for some people to not feel the same way I do on certain things, and I invite you who don’t to post up what you disagree with, and why you feel that way. That way, we can communicate effectively and come away with a better rounded scope of our own principles and morals. I’m a journalist, but I’m also a young, black, intelligent male with a voice I’m not afraid to use. Just like you. So use it.

What It Isn’t: A fraudulent ass soapbox. I’m not writing this because I like to see my thoughts in print or my own personal agenda played out to you, the readers, in order to sway you one way or the other. I’m not trying to get famous from this; I’m verbalizing what I feel is important enough to talk about and sometimes put my idea of a solution to the problem at hand. Something else this blog isn’t is a platform for racial prejudice. I’m not ever going to pull a single race card here. Its 2008, y’all. For the sake of the new year that’s rapidly approaching us, let’s step our game up. The “Man” is focused on more important things than just keeping a particular race down, how about a world populous? Maybe, but a particular race, no. Those bitch ass cops who decide to do those fucked up things are individuals who made a clear and certain choice to be like they are, there are plenty of good and lawful cops (I’ve met like…one.) who only want to do their jobs and go home to their kids.
