August 22, 2007 - Sean ‘P.Diddy’ Combs is known for throwing some of the most extravagant parties on the planet. His annual ‘White Party’, held at his Hampton Estate, is well known for being the place to ‘be’. This year Diddy wanted to compliment his party by having a $100,000 all-white pyrotechnic fireworks display over East Hampton’s Northwest Harbor on September 2. However, the fireworks permit was turned down due to concerns that the display could attract boaters to an unsafe part of the Harbor to witness the spectacle. Also, the town supervisor, William McGintee said that the fireworks may have conflicted with another previously planned show taking place that same night.
