Since Oakland’s Del tha Funkee Homosapien debuted in 1991, he has insisted on pushing the hip hop envelope. Most famous for his work on the first Gorillaz album (wrote and performed the platinum single “Clint Eastwood”), Del is currently on a national tour to promote his forthcoming solo album, 11th Hour, set for release next year. Prior to his performance at Ann Arbor’s Blind Pig, an older, wiser Del sat down with dropmagazine.com for an insightful look at his past, inspirations and what he has in store for the future (more collaboration projects!).
