Rapper and poet Common has teamed up with Converse in a new (PRODUCT) RED Weapon sneaker campaign. He will appear in the “Weapon of Change” advertising campaign which encourages consumers to be optimistic and become agents of change. Converse will donate up to 15% of the net sales to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The fund is designed to deliver private money to invest in African AIDS programs with an emphasis on the health of women and children. “Common is an outstanding partner who has inspired a generation of musicians, poets, aspiring actors and children through his work and we want to inspire Converse people everywhere toward this kind of energy and creativity-to become agents of change,” said Dave Maddocks, Chief Marketing Officer of Converse. The Converse (PRODUCT) RED Weapon will retail for $75.
