Chamillionaire

July 30, 2007 - Chamiliionaire’s “Evening News” video has cause a major stir in Canada, home to a Toronto rapper named Seazon. Seazon is saying “Evening News” highly resembles his video he released last year named ”The Reporter”.

Chamillionaire’s video has been aired on BET Access Granted and has garnered national attention. Seazon recently won a National Competition for “The Reporter” video.

The major reason Seazon has come forth with his claims is because Chamillionaire also dresses up in white face and uses a TV news set in his clip for “Evening News”. Chamallionaire adamantly denies having any knowledge of Seazon’s video.

Chamillionaire expresses that he has a very creative mind and its merely a coincidence that his video is similar to Seazon’s.

Seazon agreed that there is a possibility of a coincidence, but at the same time he argued that the odds are likely it was “Jacked”.

We all know that videos today are very similar and its really not surprising to see redundant patterns. Seazon’s “The Reporter” took a lot of creativity and he has a valid reason to feel uncomfortable because of the “Evening News” video. In Seazon’s video he is transforming into a white person delivering the news with the makeup, prosthetics and the wig. There’s a split screen where he’s talking to himself, going back and forth doing a dialog and so on.

Chamillionaire quoted “I’ve always had it in my mind how it was supposed to look, my thing is trying to find a way to pull off what I had visually in my head and paint the picture,” where he also plays a Caucasian newscaster. “When you have creative people they don’t have to steal nothing”. I’m just one of those people I would never do that in my life. I have never even stolen a candy bar when I was a little kid.”

Seazon’s “The Reporter” won him a nationwide Yahoo and Universal Canada-sponsored competition, with Seazon winning $35, 000 and a recording contract with Universal.

In the meantime, Universal reps in the US applauded Chamillionaire for the groundbreaking video, but word from Seazon is Universal Canada reps advised him to seek legal advice.
