Cedric Muhammad

Forbes Top 100 considered the popularity and recognition hip hop “Impresarios” pull in today’s economy. Muhammed was named manager of multi-platinum Wu Tang in 1995. His most notable achievement was noted as getting Rage Against the Machine and Wu Tang touring together back in ‘97 (Check out Rock the Bells this year!).

Muhammed felt it was time to “formulate [his] insight, experience, political and business network into a service that would serve the needs of today’s hip-hoppreneur.” I don’t know if I’m a fan of blending those two words, but blending the concepts has been a big part of success in the hip hop genre for years. Many hip hop heads live and breath the music and often want to show it by rocking that brand or buying other products supported by their artists. Muhammad mentioned how artists “realize the need for more income sources as the rap music genre declines in sales.” Oh… I was with you until you played on the whole ‘hip hop is dead’ rumor going around… maybe CD sales are down but get on the Internet hip hop is selling just as well as ever.
