Negative publicity concerning hip hop is everywhere in the news right now. Thank you Don Imus. Anyways, the center of discussion for CBS’ critically acclaimed 60 minutes is the debate in hip hop over whether it’s okay to cooperate with authorities in police investigations? and Who better then Cam’ron to represent the side of hip hop in this debate. He has a history of weapons allegations and if you listen to his lyrics you know “he got the clip on the hip”. The born and raised Harlem rapper is featured in a segment entitled “Stop Snitchin” in which he explains why he refuses to speak with cops. Cam explains why he never went the cops after being shot and wounded in a 2005 Washington DC shooting. Camron states that snitchin’ would, “definitely hurt my business, and the way I was raised, I just don’t do that… not snitching is ‘a code of ethics’ in the streets.” Cam’ron even goes as far to say that, “If I knew the serial killer was living next door to me? I wouldn’t call and tell anybody on him… but I’d probably move… but I’m not going to call and be like, ‘The serial killer’s in 4E.’” Anyways, just like his Beef with Jay, this should be real interesting. You can catch it on CBS April 22, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
