
September 7, 2007 - The Roots emcee Black Thought has been casted in the new independent movie Explicit Ills, a film about the effects of drugs and poverty and the choices people make. The cast includes, Rosario Dawson (Men in Black, Grindhouse), Mark Webber (Bomb the System, Whiteboyz), Naomie Harris (28 days later, Pirates of the Carribean), Paul Franklin Dano (Little Miss Sunshine) and Lout Taylor Pucci (Thumbsucker).
In other related news, The Roots are teaming up with MC Lyte and Big Daddy Kane in the first ever ‘VH1 Hip Hop Honors Tour.’ The tour kicks off September 13 in San Francisco. The Roots upcoming album, Rising Down, is set to be released late 2007 or early 2008.
